Dropping by.
Hi.

Wow, it's been a while since I posted here. Over a couple of years, infact.

I used to comment and answer a lot of questions a couple of years back, while I was also going through the learning phase. I was also an admin of the forum for a short while. Not sure if any of the current members here remember. But, anyway, I was just dropping by and saying hey, and that I hope you're getting closer and closer to your vocal goals and ambitions.

Singing Success really did change my life - especially Mastering Mix - and the lessons I took with Jesse for just over a year. Stick at it, and you will be rewarded hugely. It really is worth all the time and practice.

Mainly thanks to Jesse, I had made many vocal breakthroughs that has lead me to "finding myself", writing my own material, recording it professionally, and really believing that I could make it as an artist. I am currently developing a marketing plan, and my campaign will soon be launched under a record label later this summer. The first people I will be thanking will be Jesse and Brett, because they really did flick on the switch, and "make" me. Really - this methodology works. If I could give you one tip - it would be - learn the vocal technique, and then forget it. Build it inside you enough so that you can sing songs well, and then focus on your delivery of that song. Don't get bogged down too much on the vocal technique. It has importance - but it's not the deciding factor of what makes you a viable commercial artist.

Take care,

Umar Khan

Kneeling down and begged my dad to get married. :)
Story of my new video:

The young Lauretta is pleading with her father (played by my dad) to be allowed to marry a young man.

Thank you very much for your time. Have a great week!

All of this aside, my focus was on her performance. I thought it was excellent.
haha ya i meant the title Wink , great vocals

Alot of times, what i notice is that when people do the tongue trills, they continue to tense up their tongue which results in the tip of the tongue being further back in the mouth, as well as having somewhat of an "R" sound.

In order for the tongue trills to be benificial you have to do them correctly, with a relaxed tongue and the tip of the tonge towards the front of the mouth. Think more of stuttering "Ds" Rather than rolling "Rs"
yup exactly when i used to do it the wrong way it was somewhat sounds like a flat tone not "think" but after sometime i started doing it thinking of Drrrr not Rrrrrr so i still have to refine the technique but i think i am doing it the right way though , great stuff dude

my head voice disapeared
now this is weird , i stopped practicing for about 2 months and now i feel like i dont have a head voice its just chest then mix and that's it , and i think i have lost like 1 or 2 notes , is this normal , and how much time till i am back to "normal"
Don't panic. It will come back. But when you walk away from practicing you may be forgetting about how to approach head voice. It's partly technique.

Because I am able to remember technique, I am able to go a week without singing and come right back into it. And because I wasn't freaked out about it, I was able to actually expand my range.

Try to memorize and make proper technique a part of you and you should be able to come right back to it. It's sort of like learning to ride a bicycle. Also, remember not to strain your voice in the process.
How Long Have You Been Singing?.... When People Say Things Disapear Its Usually A Period Of Years Or They Only Starting Singing Seriously Newly (I'll Say Under 3 Years) I've Been Singing All My Life and When Things Disappear for me im sick or hoarse and i do no specific exercises to get them back they just come back when the sickness has past. Also It Could Be Allergy Season and your cords are swollen its happen to me and the voice tends to feels heavy and usually weighted. In All Chillax And Dont work your voice to death you wont become a better singer killing your voice with exercises every second of the day. Ppl preform with less than perfect voices all the time Denyce Graves said "the day your in best voice you will be at home doing laundry, so raise your average singing above average."

hey guys , i was lsning to a song by crossfade the other day , and i just felt like , natural good voice's are just something else , its not about power or anything , i dont know or maybe i just cant figure out how to do this , i ll link the song here , the beginning is just awesome vocals , and it is making me doubt if i ll ever be able to be a good singer , just thought i ed share this ,take a lsn , and tell me what you think

Carl, you are an ace! Great comment. Everything is possible to him that believes. But, not without hella hard work! Smile
i needed to hear something like that lol , its just sometimes i loose sight on the long term goal , and i guess i just loose "faith" lol , but after analyzing the vocals , its basically some vocal fry with a sweet mix XD

how to get back
hey guys its been almost a month since my last practice , and its been 2 weeks since i wanted to go back to practicing but then i tore my ACL playing basketball and i ve been lazy as hell , so any tips on how to come back strong ?
Whenever I've been sick and not been able to practice what I'll do to get back is try 15 to 30 minutes of exercises. I basically just listen to my voice. I don't push it. And I may go every other day for a week or two. Until I've built it back up.

But everyone one is different, so just see what your voice is capable of right now.
I always make sure I drink a ton of water, take vitamin c, zinc and calcium. Anything that will help my voice.

my first video clip . and my latest song ;)
hey guys , everything you see and hear was done by me , except for actually holding the camera lol , but ya its my first attempt at making videos , and hey let me know if you like it , hate it , just what you think of it , and if you have any tips for me Wink

Also, the beauty of music is that you can choose your own sounds, but I feel the chorus effect on the lead and back ground guitar is a bit over done.
thanks a lot man , and i totally agree with with about the font thing . and i am still learning and i have a looong way to go , so the feedback is really helpful thanks man

Guitar
Just bought my first guitar ever recently and I'm loving it! Really loving it so much that I forget doing my vocal exercises every day Wink Dang it lol
I'm thinking about learning the piano as well. Anyone else play any instruments?
Yea, fingers hurt like hell sometimes, but they're kinda used to it now. It's not so bad anymore Smile
haha well i have been playing guitar for seven years now , its only boring the first 2 months lol , so just keep practicing it and you will be good in no time

Cant get smooth connection from chest to head in lip rolls
I struggle as soon as i hit the note that has to start to blend with the head voice. When i attempt to get through this bridge to sounds horrible due to a very obvious jump from chest to head. Any tips?
Use as little air as possible as you approach the "speed bump" and then as you are in between the speed bump, add an "uh" to the sound.
i found that doing the lip rolls with a dobby sound makes mixing much easier , but it will take time , when i started doing this , i had a lot of breaks , but with time it got better
