Why are the demos of Mastering Mix so airy???
Hi together,

my question is in the topic! Do you have any ideas?
Thank you!
in which particular cd are you reffering to? They aren't airy. Sometimes it's confusing because they use a really light coordination but no airy. The sound is really small and soft but the vocal cords have a nice closure.

Warm Up Before CD's?
Should I do some sort of warm up before the CD exercises, or do the first few exercises on each CD count as warm up? Thanks!
The exercises are enough warm up, I think Wink Especially the lip rolls, nays and mums are even perfect for warming up before shows!
Brett has taken under account that you are probably not warmed up before the cd's, don't worry. Smile

Can't stop squeezing around the upper larynx
Hey guys,

I'm using SS for a very long time now and stil have problems with squeezing! Whenever I produce a tone, no matter if I'm talking, singing, huming, I can feel my throat tightening. It feels like I put a string around my throat, right under my jaw, where my windpipe starts (the upper of the 2 balls, in the front it is shaped like a little V)and the tongue muscles are connected to the ground of the mouth! Thats where I located the strain (most in front, but also in the back of my neck) and I have absolutely no idea, how to get rid of it. As soon as I focus on it, the whole throat tightens. Sometimes I'm more relaxed right under the jaw, but then there is more strain around my adams apple...
I tried singing very light, quiet, not to strain, but I can't stop. Maybe my tongue is responsible for that.
So maybe somebody has an advice, what to do against it and knows, which exercises could prevent my problem...
I know my voice very well now, but this squeezing is my one and only problem I can't get rid of and that's what makes my voice sound tight and a bit horrible, how I think Very Happy

Thanks a lot
Try wathing Jesse Nemitz Clean attack & Hesitation and really pay attention to what he say. For me it sounds like your approach to the exercises is wrong. My advice to you is to relax. Really relax. Dont hesitate, smile and have fun with the exercises. Get your mind of the exercise and just let your vocal cords make the job. Say to your self that it's only weird exercises that is easy to do. Dont think that you are going up or doing to a note. Also try to place every note in your forehead, i can describe how much it have heelping me.Smile
Hi Omark,

thanks a lot for your quick reply and wow, these are great tips! Especially Jess video about hesitation and placing ALL notes in my forehead. I realised, that I produce most of my consonants in my throat. I never thaught it was wrong, cause its the way I'm talking! So is it right, to produce them somewhere between the roof of the mouth and the nose/forehead?
Another problem I have is that I've absolutely no idea, how singing feels? In one vid they tell that any feeling is a sign for strain, in another that I need compressen and then they talk about the tone flipping behind the soft palate (for me that means/feels more in the throat???) when going up in pitch...

Tanks a lot!

Brett Manning: Bass, Bariton or Tenor?
Hey everybody,

I've just a short question. Does anyone know, if Brett Manning is a Bass, Bariton or Tenor? Because he has such an amazing range of 6 octaves. Once, I've heared, that you can't sing much deeper than you are born with and that you can train high notes much better. But then Brett must be a deep Bass, but he can hit an high C and lets it sound like a Tenor is singing it.
So what is Brett? Maybe just an allrounder??? Shit. He's soooo good Surprised I wan to be that good, too Very Happy

Thanks,
Chris!
Good point. I do fake my low notes with vocal fry sometimes. But I had to stop b/c it didn't sound natural
Nike Air Max shoes achieved an unprecedented success in the market. This deepened Nike to develop the new products. Only one year’s circumstances, there are 300 new models in the U.S. market, of course, including the famous Air Max TN shoes. And Nike claims that developing the technology oriented products is one of the key factors of success for Nike, we spare no effort to develop the new materials, fibers and modern design. Singing G# above middle C as bass with "rock" voice???
Hi together,

I'm a SS beginner. I bought the program a half year ago, but I started doing the exercises just 2 weaks ago. And I must say. Wow. It really helps, just after 2 weeks.
But one question. I think that I'm a bass. My bridge is somewhere between G# and middle C. But can I sing a G above middle C with mix, that it sounds like Green Day in Holiday, the part "on holidayyyyyyyyyyy" at the end of the chorus or "Don't look back in anger" by Oasis? At the moment I'm just flipping into headvoice (which I don't really like, cause I'm a punk lead singer who wants to sing cultured) but with mix???
Earlier, I got a G with yelling, but it really hurts and I couldn't sing deep notes after that (I think that I destroyed them a bit, or at least I couldn't loose tension)! Also, The G above middle C was just luck sometimes.

Thanks for your help and excuse my English, please.
Chris!
